Fire Classification
We can treat timber to Euro Class B Spread of Flame (equivalent to UK Class O)
FIRE TREATMENT
We have recently seen a significant increase in the number of projects where fire retardant treatment is required.
We supply treated materials to joinery manufacturers, carpentry contractors, interior fit out companies, boat builders and door manufacturers.
Timber can be treated with HR-Prof, which is water based and absorbed into the surface of the timber substrate. It is suitable for interior and exterior use, is non-toxic and solvent free. It does not leach and will not wash out from the substrate once dry meaning that it is not harmful to the environment.
Treatment with HR-Prof does not cause any adverse reaction with galvanised steel, gun nails or zinc coated screws. Most importantly, timber does not twist, crack or distort during or after application and as, such, its critical engineering properties are not compromised.
HR-Prof also has non-flammable properties which restrict the ignition and spread of flame. In the event of fire, it is not converted into smoke and carbon char is restricted to the immediate areas.
When tested after treatment with HR-Pro at temperatures up to 1700C, timbers are subject to charcoal forming which restricts the spread of flame.
We apply HR-Prof through our vacuum coater which gives an even coverage quickly.
Timber treaded with HR-Prof can either be left to look natural or can be over treated with compatible stains and lacquers.
